About the laboratory

The laboratory is run as a not-for-profit organisation in order to provide veterinary surgeons and their patients with a valuable resource in the fight to effectively treat Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP).

We are now concentrating on helping cats suffering from this terrible disease which are being treated with Remdesivir and GS-441524

The laboratory assays samples from cats under treatment in order to determine if they are receiving adequate amounts of these drugs to provide optimum response to treatment. Cats which are not receiving sufficient drug, which may be as many as 15% of cats under treatment, are identified and may benefit from dose modifications.

We use modern ultra-high performance liquid chromatography equipment to measure the amount of the drug in tiny blood samples and the results are available within a few days.
